Clarity

Blog post without pictures guys. Hate to bore but I've got some stuff to tell you.
Today I had so many moments of clarity. It was beautiful.
It started this morning, when Julia and I woke up hazily in my bed this morning. She spent the night after we went and saw some Shakespeare in the park. We got up and made muffins and were going to watch tv, but instead, we decided to play cards with my brother and listen to Seabear while the rain was tapping on our skylights. It was wonderful. I felt so at peace and so happy to be off a screen for a little while and be with the ones I love. That was the only the morning. After Julia went home, I was looking at Chaco's seeing as I need to replace mine and I suddenly felt the unbelievable need to journal. So I went and found an old leather journal a friend gave me, and wrote. That was the second one. And just now, I walked out side into the coolwarm air while it was raining and stood in the rain with my eyes closed and my face turned upward to full receive it all. My skin had goosebumps and my eyelashes were heavy with water and I felt such amazing clarity and peace. I went inside and put on the woven coat my mother gave me, a relic of hers, my own technicolor dream coat, and now I'm making pasta, before I go shake my butt and smile till my cheeks hurt at dance class. Its been a good day.

Lets Go To A Waterfall

Y'know whats great? When a weekend turns out super fantastic even though all the plans that were made get sort of twisted. On friday, Forrest and I drove down to Greenville to pick up his brother, and had some free time to just mess around at Falls Park which was lovely. Did you see the picture of him modeling the iPhone? Yeah, he's a cool cat.
And then yesterday, Forrest and I plus another sweet friend hiked up to some STUNNING falls near Old Fort. Seriously ya'll, it blows my mind that I live forty five minutes away from such amazing things. Unfortunately, we didn't have the camera with us. Le sigh. There's always next time I suppose.
I'm off to clean my house and possibly go jump in a swimming hole with the fam, or perhaps see some Shakespeare in the park. By the way, anyone like my new shoes? Me likey.
I hope your Sunday is full of sunshine.
Love,
Maren

Food Coma

Am I the only one whose mouth is watering? No? Yeah, thats what I thought. I've been obsessively reading through Food Coma's (drool drool) archives as of late and yeah, not only is she gorgeous, but she's an amazing chef. Where is the justice in life? Never mind, I'll just sit here and be bitter.
I'm dyinnggggg to try these recipes. Hit me up if you know any more darling&delectable blogs I might enjoy, I'm always on the hunt (my bloglovin is proof).
Have a wonderful tuesday night my loves, and I will see you soon,
Maren

And The Living Is Easy

Summer is so wonderful. Ive spent the last couple of days with these adorable kids, checkin' out parrots, cuddling sweet baby bunnies, and catching grass hoppers, just like summer is supposed to be. I want to grab them and cover them in kisses they're so sweet.
In other news, my daddy and I went out for indian food tonight and mmm, let me tell you, so good. I love stuffing myself with rice, chicken and chai. Followed by Ben&Jerry's, the night was perfection. Not to mention that for the first time all summer, that Southern heat and humidity has let up. Happy dance forreal ya'll. Home girl might be an August Baby, but I prefer not to be sticky all the time. Especially since I just got new tires on my bike! Can't wait to get my butt on that thing and go for a ride. Did I mention it has a basket? Yeah, its pretty badass, not gonna lie.
Anywho ya'll, I hope you have the dancing in the streetingest, eating tandooriest, kissing your boyfriendingest, biking downtowningest, sewing summer dressingest, making daisy crowningest weekend of your lives (to take a cue from Haiku Ambulance).
Love,
Maren

So Fun.

Hey folks,
What have you guys been up to? Laxin' and chillin'? Dancing? Singing, laughing, rafting, smiling, eating, sleeping, listening, whispering, skipping, sewing? Well, I've been doing all these things. I'm so sorry I haven't been posted, but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do when she's got such a busy schedule. Right? Right.
The actual reason that I haven't been posting is I don't like posting without some yummy photos for you guys to soak up like lemonade on these sweltering days here in the Appalachia's. But I have returned with a plethora of photos for you! Forrest, Julia and I made a date to go get burritos downtown in preparation of the biggest event of my life. Harry Potter Prt. Two, the midnight premiere.
IT ALL ENDS PEOPLE IT ALL ENDS.
It goes without saying it was fantastic. The burritos were delish, and not only were we the first ones in line (that's what happens when you get there two hours early), but we brought our Crazy Creeks--which, in case you didn't know, are awesome--made some new friends, and played some Egyptian Ratscrew on the theater floor. Such a wonderful night.
And now my darlings, I'm going to go watch a movie with the Fam. I hope you guys have the most fantastic weekend of your summer time careers. Happy friday loves.
